Breast lift surgery

Breast cosmetic surgeries include breast augmentation, breast reduction, and breast lift. Each one is popular and is unique from one another. In this video, I will give you an overview of the breast lift surgery.

The breast lift is a procedure to bring back harmony of the nipple-areolar complex with the overall aesthetic of the breast. There are different types of breast lifts. You need to understand that whenever you have a breast lift, you are going to have scars that are more extensive than the ones you see with breast augmentation.

If we look at the varieties of breast sagginess, we have patients that have minor sagginess, which is defined as less than 3 cm of correction; moderate sagginess, which is 5 to 6 cm of correction; and severe sagginess, which is more than 6 cm of correction. It is important that the patient fully understands these things prior to the surgery. When I talk about correction, I am talking about the distance between where your nipple-areolar complex is and where it is supposed to be.

If you happen to have minor breast sagginess, the periareolar breast lift may be a solution for you. Patients often do not want to have a breast lift because of the extent of the surgery and the scars on the breasts, but what happens if you insert an implant and you do not lift the breast? The implant is not going to lift the nipple-areolar complex significantly.

Breast augmentation will only fix minor sagginess of 1 cm or less. If you put an implant in a saggy breast, you are going to have a big saggy breast. You need to be realistic about how your breasts are going to look after a breast lift. Your breasts aesthetically will look nicer, but you will need to accept scars to achieve your aesthetic goals.
