Wonder Breast Lift

The female breast undergoes predictable natural changes in the course of a woman’s life. As a result of pregnancy and nursing, weight loss, weight gain, or simply time and gravity, the breast will eventually sag. This happens when skin loses its elasticity and the internal ligaments suspending the breast become weaker. A breast lift procedure can raise and reshape saggy breasts.

There are different ways of lifting the breasts. If you have lost a lot of volume, a lift combined with a breast augmentation may be recommended. If your breasts are somewhat saggy breasts but have appropriate volume, a breast lift alone might be enough to provide you with a nice result and the volume and size of breast that you desire.

The information in this section is mainlyrelated to the Wonder Breast Lift, a breast lift technique without implants developed by Dr. Cortés. In this description, we will provide you with information related to the surgery, where the surgery will be performed, the type of anesthesia that will be used, and what to expect after the procedure. Since many factors must be considered in deciding the best procedure for your particular situation, it is important that you have a consultation with Dr. Cortés, so he can recommend the best option to enhance your breasts to your satisfaction.

The Difference Between the Wonder Breast Lift and Traditional Breast Lift

In the history of plastic surgery, many techniques have been developed to lift the breasts. These techniques vary in the way the location of the scar and the way the nipple is transferred, among other things. One challenge with any breast lift technique is thatthe breasts need not only to be lifted, but also to be reshapedto enhance their beauty. In addition, traditional breast lift techniques do not give long-lasting results. In other words, the breasts are lifted but because the skin is used as the main support for the breasts, over time the skin will stretch, your breasts will droop, and even though the relationship between the nipple and the areola with the breast mound is where it should be, you will lose fullness in the upper portion of the breasts.

The Wonder Breast Lift is a technique developed by Dr. Cortés that uses a very different approach. Dr. Cortés sees a breast lift not as a minor aesthetic procedure but actually as a kind of breast reconstruction. If we examine the anatomy of a saggy breast, all the major structures of the breasts are weak. This is why the breasts sag. The skin has thinned, losing elasticity and tone. Breast tissue has been replaced by fat tissue and the ligaments of the breasts have become stretched. The breasts descend because these ligaments are no longer providing support.

The Wonder Breast Lift will give youa perkier-looking breast following surgeryand will providea long-lasting result. This amazing technique solves many of the issues of earlier breast lift techniques. Dr. Cortés not only reconstructs the ligaments of the breasts, but also makes use of the pectoralis major muscle, the muscle of the chest that supports the breasts, in redistributing the breast tissue for results that will please you.

Who Is the Best Candidate for a Wonder Breast Lift Procedure?

If you have lost a great deal of weight, have minimal breast tissue, and your main concern is excess skin, this technique will not be suitable for you. The best candidate for the Wonder Breast Lift is awoman with saggy breasts but enough breast tissue to reshape the breasts and provide some fullness to the top of the breasts. In addition, she needs to be healthy, emotionally stable, and have realistic expectations.

Your Consultation

We encourage our patients to watch our videos on the YouTube channel Drwilbertocorteslive. These educational videos provide additional informationabout the procedures you may beconsidering. During your consultation with Dr. Cortés, he will examine your breasts. He will measure the distance between the nipple and the fold beneath your breast as well as the distance between the nipple and your breastbone. Based on these measurements he will plan the incision and the maneuvers needed to transpose the nipple to a successful position. The longer the measurements are, the more extensive the surgery will be. Dr. Cortés will also record the particular characteristics of each breast including nipple size, areola size, and breast volume. All women have breasts of different size and shape. Your breasts are not perfectly symmetric before surgery and they will not be perfectly symmetric after surgery. Dr. Cortés likes to describe the breasts as very close sisters but not twins. You have to be realistic because perfection will not be provided by any breast surgery or any other surgery. Nevertheless, your breasts will have good symmetry after surgery. During the consultation, Dr. Cortés will review your health to make sure you do not have medical issues that need to be addressed prior to surgery, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, etc. He will also evaluate your skin tone and amount of breast tissue. He will discuss with you the probable size of the breasts after surgery. He will also describe where the scar will be located and help you set appropriate expectations in terms of achieving the shape that you desire. If you have medical issues, they will need to be addressed prior to surgery. In the interest of your safety, sometimes Dr. Cortés will request medical clearance from your regular physicians prior to surgery.

Surgical Risks

The Wonder Breast Lift is a technically challenging but very safe procedure. As with any surgery, it does carrywith it some uncertainty and risks. Risks can include the following: 1. Infection 2. Loss of nipple sensation 3. Bleeding 4. Wide or unsatisfactory scars 5. Poor healing 6. Blood clots During your preoperative visit, we will provide you with specific consents for the breast lift, and we will discuss any concerns you might have regarding complications or things that can occur during surgery. In addition, we will discuss specific instructions about your procedureto minimize complications.

Where Your Surgery Will Be Performed

Dr. Cortés performs his surgeries at the Houston Northwest Medical Center, a fully accredited surgical facility, located near the intersection of FM 1960 and HWY 45. The breast lift surgery takes approximately 3 to 4 hours. If you are having additional procedures, such as the hourglass mummy makeover, the hourglass buttock augmentation, or buttock implant, we may schedule an overnight stay for you. If you are admitted to the hospital, you will stay for one day assuming there are no issues.

Type of Anesthesia

For your comfort and safety, Dr. Cortés performs all his surgeries under general anesthesia. This is a very extensive surgery that will provide you long-term results. Local anesthesia will not be an option and you will not be awake during surgery. It would be extremely uncomfortable to have this surgery performed under local anesthesia.

The Surgery

The Wonder Breast Lift takes about 3 to 4 hours. One of the main differences with this technique is that Dr. Cortés does not do the inverted T-shaped scar that other surgeons use. He believes that scar, which extends all the way to the midline, is both unattractiveand unnecessary. With it, if a woman decides to wear a sexy bathing suit or show some cleavage, the horizontal scar might be visible. For this reason, he performs a vertical breast lift with a short horizontal limb that goes toward the side instead of toward the midline. On the day of surgery, Dr. Cortés will mark your skin with double opposing triangles. These markings will guide the transposition of your nipple-areola complex as well as isolate the lower parts of your breasts that have sagged with their own blood supply to transfer and restore upper pole fullness. He will use the pectoralis major muscle as a sling to support the lower inferior tissue that will be transferred. He will alsouse sutures and ligaments to suspend the nipple-areola that is being transposed. Thiskeeps the tissue from rotating anteriorly, thus preventing what is called “bottoming out of the tissue” with loss of the upper pole fullness of the breasts. During surgery he will determine the amount of excess skin. Instead of cutting this excess skin, however, he will use the skin as further support for the breasts to provide you a nice shape. Once he determines the amount of excess skin that needs to be removed to fit your new breasts, he will close the incisions and provide you with nice round breasts that look almost as if they have breast implants.

What to Expect After Your Surgery

After your surgery, Dr. Cortés will assess your nipple-areola for any signs of problems such as lack of blood supply and/or areas that will need to be followed closely to avoid wound healing issues. You will be very bruised and swollen. The breasts are likely to look very high after the surgery and a little bit flat at the bottom, but the contour will soon settle into a very natural appearance. You will wear a surgical bra for support. You will need to wear it for 2 to 3 months following surgery. Your skin will be dry and bruised after surgery. You may use lotions and moisturizers as directed to improve your skin. Some change in nipple sensation is to be expected. Most patients still have some sensation after surgery and some patients actually have more sensation after surgery. Your stitches will be removed in 7 to 10 days, and bandages will be removed the day after the first visit.

Getting Back to Normal

You need to be very patient, as healing takes weeks to months. You will notice the shape of your breasts changing and getting better day by day. We will provide you with detailed instructions on when you may shower, what foods will optimize healing, and what activities should be encouraged or avoided as you heal. After surgery, your breasts will feel tight and you will need time to adjust to your new lifted breasts. As time passes, your breasts will continue to evolve to an implant-like look without an implant. You will be able to do light cardio exercise in about 3 to 4 weeks. You will be able to lift weights in about 4 to 6 weeks. The overall healing and settling process following a breast lift takes 4 to 6 months.

The New You

This surgery will give you the appearance of having breast implants without really having them. You need to understand that any breast lift will leave scars, particularly if you had a lot of sagginess prior to surgery. These scars are permanent. Initially they are red, but over time they mature and fade. The Wonder Breast Lift will give you long-term results, but it cannot completely eliminate the effects of gravity. With time and aging, the breasts may eventually sag again. There is no question, however, that the Wonder Breast Lift is the best breast lift technique for aesthetically pleasing results.

Most Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I lose sensation of my nipples?

With any breast surgery, there is a risk of having a loss of sensation. With saggy breasts, some patients already feel an abnormal sensation of the nipples and areolas. Yes, nipple sensation can diminish but it often comes back.

2. Will my breasts sag again? The Wonder Breast Lift was developed for the purpose of providing you better, longer-lasting results. The procedure does not stop the effect of gravity nor aging. As you get older, your breasts will eventually droop again. The beauty of the Wonder Breast Lift is that it allows the breasts to hold a nice shape better and longer than other techniques.
