Liposuction recovery

Liposuction recovery is one of the concerns of those who have undergone the procedure. It is a surgical operation that gets rid of unwanted fat deposits from any part of the body. Most often, to enhance the abdomen, to make the waist smaller or to remove the fat from areas like the backs and thighs are the reasons why patients require liposuction.

Several factors affect the recovery time after liposuction. The length of recovery affects the amount of fat removed. If the fat is removed from one area, the recovery will be much shorter compared with high volume liposuction. The procedure is safe though it causes traumatic injury to the surrounding tissues, including connective tissue. Also, vessels are injured which may cause bleeding, swelling, and bruising after the procedure.

When you have high-volume liposuction, the area will feel firm and hard. It is normal for you to feel lumpy, bumpy and most of the time, uneven. When the fat is removed, the body is going to decrease in size secondary to the fat that is suctioned out, but also the injured fat left behind. All these symptoms will resolve in six to nine months.

Depending on the amount of fat removed and the length of the procedure, the return to work is one or two weeks. For you to decrease the inflammation and fluid collection and to improve the lumpiness and bumpiness, you have to wear a girdle that compresses the belly in an even manner. Walk around to avoid blood clots. Your surgeon will make sure that the compression is even and there are no complications.

Liposuction recovery requires you to be compliant. The easy part of any cosmetic procedure is the surgery itself. The hard part is being patient and allowing your body to heal to prevent complications and get the best result.
