Saline Breast Implant

Despite the fact that silicone breast implants are better in terms of consistency and feel, there are certain benefits of using saline breast implants in some patients. Saline implants, like silicone implants, are also approved by the FDA in the United States. These implants are filled with sterile water solution similar to the fluid that makes of most of the human anatomy, making it safe and compatible with the body. Saline implants also tend to feel firmer than silicone implants, so if you want a have a breast that is more firm, a saline implant is recommended. Another benefit is that saline implants have a flexible filling volume that can adjust breast asymmetry, meeting the need of each patient to give the best results. If a saline implant leaks or ruptures, it will be harmless but noticeably different, being an easy indicator for replacement. In addition, insertion of any given saline implant during surgery will require a much smaller incision than what is required for a silicone implant. A saline implant is an empty bag that is filled once the implant is placed inside the breast.
