Do not lie on your hips after hourglass hip procedure

Hi, this is Dr. Hourglass, and welcome to another video in our channel Superhourglass. Today we are going to discuss: Do not lie on your hips after hourglass hip procedures? In this channel, we will discuss everything you need to know for you to get the hourglass shape you’ve always wanted.
Welcome back! The hourglass hip procedure is a popular plastic surgery procedure to achieve the hourglass body, which features narrow waist, wider hips, and a curvier body. The surgery involves liposuction of the abdomen, sides, love handles, and upper back. The fat removed during liposuction is then grafted into the hips, which results in wider hips.

Since the hourglass hip procedure is a major intervention, the recovery process needs to be seamless for the desired aesthetic outcomes to evolve. After the surgery, you would be required to follow a number of instructions. You have to be extra careful and avoid certain activities. One of the activities you would be required to avoid for at least two weeks following the operation is lying on your hips.

The fat cells grafted into your hips are extremely fragile because your body has yet to vascularize the cells. Applying pressure on the fat grafts before blood flow has been established to them has the potential to damage the fat grafts. After being damaged, the fat cells would ultimately die. This would affect the aesthetic outcomes of the hourglass hip procedure, meaning that your hips would remain narrow instead of becoming wider.

The fat grafts need at least 2-3 weeks to achieve blood flow. Once blood flow has been established to the fat cells, they would develop, grow, and behave just like the fat in other areas of your body. Only then you may lie on your hip and sit. However, when you resume lying on your back, do not do it suddenly. Be sure to resume it gradually.

There are many people who assume that since the hourglass hip procedure does not involve incisions or placement of implants inside the hips or butts, they can sit and lie on their back right after the intervention. This is an entirely wrong assumption. While sitting and lying on your back may not cause health complications, in this case, it can spoil the achieved aesthetic results.

Do not forget that you are undergoing the hourglass hip procedure for aesthetic reasons. You need to follow the surgeon’s instructions and avoid lying on your back for at least two weeks after the surgery. This can be overwhelming and uncomfortable; you must be ready for it anyway. Instead of sleeping or lying on your back, you can sleep and lie on your front or side.
