Revision of Brazilian butt lift

Every year, I encounter hundreds of patients who request for Brazilian butt lift revisions. These patients are often unsatisfied with the results that the previous surgeries have given them. In my practice, I can easily tell that one of the telltale signs of a poorly executed Brazilian buttock augmentation is a patient’s lack of understanding about where the fat can be injected.

While most plastic surgeons out there can give you the projection you want, the results still vary from patient to patient. Well, the main goal of a Brazilian butt lift surgery is to increase the size of the buttock, but it is not as simple as it sounds.

  1. If you have already undergone a Brazilian butt lift surgery and you have the following issues, then there’s a high chance the surgery is poorly executed.
  1. You have way too much fat on the superior aspect of the buttock on the side, which gives her an appearance of high hips and a high buttock.
  1. You have more of a round profile.

Generally, when I perform Brazilian butt lift, I perform liposuction on the abdomen, flanks, and sides of the upper and lower back. My goal is to recreate the gluteal triangle by performing liposuction on the lower back and on the sides and top of the buttock. This technique also aims to decrease the width of the buttock in the superior area.

Then, in order to reshape the back profile, I will inject fat in the midline inferior aspect. The central aspect of the buttock must be injected with fat as well in order to decrease the width of the buttock and improve the projection. Fat transfer to the hips will be necessary as well. To get results satisfactory results, you need to have a clear understanding of the anatomy and shape of the buttocks first.
