Water assisted liposuction

Little do you know that there are various types of liposuction techniques and machines designed to remove unwanted fats in certain parts of the body. One of the said techniques is called the water-assisted liposuction. This type of liposuction uses water to help loosen fat cells from the connective tissue, making it possible to gently remove the fat. If you will ask if the surgeon will still use a cannula, the answer is yes. What makes it different from other liposuction techniques is that the extracted fat cells may be harvested and transferred to other parts of the body.

For you to understand better, know that the procedure involves the insertion of the cannula into the surgical site where fat needs to be removed. The fat is then removed from the body and suctioned out. In any type of liposuction, the procedure requires some energy source to get rid of the fat. This energy is the back and forth movement from the cannula combined with the suctioning pressure of the machine. In the water-assisted liposuction, the energy source is a water jet stream that comes from the tip of the cannula. Water-assisted liposuction is considered as one of the many non-destructive liposuction techniques for fat harvesting. It does not destroy the fat removed from the body, thus, making the fat transfer possible. Water-assisted liposuction still follows the same steps as any liposuction wherein there is still a need to use tumescent anesthesia to prevent bleeding, there is a back and forth movement of the cannula and many more.

Some advocates of water-assisted liposuction believe that the said procedure has a faster recovery process compared to other techniques. This is because it causes less trauma and bruising than the other techniques. The truth is, the results of any given liposuction procedure depend mainly on the surgeon itself, rather than the machine they use. Water-assisted liposuction is another technique that is highly successful in removing fat, but what makes it particularly impressive is the fact that it can harvest the fat.
