2 secrets of a successful brazilian butt lift

The data released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) shows an increase in demand for the Brazilian butt lift procedure over the last few years. It looks like we are all under the spell of big, perky buttocks and there are few chances for things to change in the near future. The Brazilian butt lift is associated with minimal risks, and the results can be spectacular when performed by an experienced, talented board-certified plastic surgeon in an accredited medical facility or hospital.

While the procedure is frequently performed all over the world nowadays, it is only a few plastic surgeons that are aware of the main secrets of a successful Brazilian butt lift. Here are two secrets of a success Brazilian butt lift that you should know before scheduling your procedure:

  1.    Avoid having too much fat injected at once

When we use implants, things are simple and the buttock will have an increase in size according to the volume of the implant used. But for the Brazilian butt lift, things are different. We inject fat, and an amount of it will be reabsorbed by the body in the first few months following the procedure. Most patients will lose about 30% of the fat injected or even more over the course of the first two months. For some patients, it might seem like the best solution to have as much fat as possible injected into the buttocks. But it is only an experienced plastic surgeon that will be able to tell you that the opposite is needed to get spectacular results and avoid complications. I often inject no more than 500-600 ml of fat into each buttock during the procedure. I also try to avoid injecting the fat under the muscle where it is close to major veins as this is how fat embolism occurs and this is a severe complication that should be avoided at all costs. The fat needs to be injected in different areas of the buttocks and different depths to ensure its survival. Having too much fat injected at once leads to the death of more fat cells and the formation of nodules in the buttocks. To have a more impressive augmentation, it is preferable to have several procedures performed than too much fat injected at once.

  1.    Sculpt nearby areas to create beautiful curves

The Brazilian butt lift involves a liposuction procedure by default. This can be performed on any area of the body where there is an excess of adipose tissue, and many patients will prefer to have it done on the abdomen and flanks. However, an experienced plastic surgeon will advise you to target the nearby areas with liposuction to create curves in all the right places. This means that liposuction should be performed on the lower part of the back, flanks, and thighs if you want to maximize the results achieved with the Brazilian butt lift.
