3 things you didn’t know about breast lift with implants

For patients confronted with saggy breasts hanging low on the chest wall, the breast lift is the only method available nowadays that can significantly improve the appearance of the breasts with minimal complications and risks involved. No other procedure or method can provide perky breasts if breast ptosis is present.

When they decide to seek medical assistance to correct breast ptosis, many patients realize that they would also like to benefit from an augmentation of their breasts at the same time. This is the reason why the breast lift with implants is a very commonly performed combination in plastic surgery. Here are three things you didn’t know about breast lift with implants:

  1.    There is just one set of incisions

One of the most important things about undergoing a breast lift with implants is that the plastic surgeon will perform just one set of incisions for both procedures. This means that the incisions necessary to perform the breast lift will also be used to insert the implants in their pockets created inside the breasts. This should be great news for patients who want to keep the scars after plastic surgery to a minimal. Keep in mind that the length and number of incisions needed to correct the breast sagginess is dependent on how severe the breast sagginess. Generally speaking, if the breast ptosis is minor, there will be just one incision around the areola. If the breast sagginess is more severe, other two incisions can be performed: one in the inframammary fold and another one vertically from the areola to the inframammary fold.

  1.    The recovery period is the same as after a breast augmentation

Even if you are undergoing combined procedures, there is just one recovery period. This means that the patient is advised to take just two weeks off from work after the breast lift with implants is performed. During these two weeks and even for a couple more weeks after, patients are recommended not to engage in intense physical activities as this might unnecessarily prolong the recovery process. Lifting heavy objects off the floor is to be avoided for at least a month and the patient is advised to wear the compression bra non-stop for a minimum of two weeks post-op, if not more.

  1.    The whole appearance of the body will be improved

There is no doubt about the fact that the appearance of the breasts will be considerably improved after the patient undergoes the breast lift. However, there is also no denying the fact that if the breast lift is performed with implants, the whole appearance of the patient’s body can be improved. Keep in mind that you should always select a talented, experienced and board-certified plastic surgeon to play out your breast lift if you want to achieve the best results possible.
