Some of you may be afraid when you discover that there blood clots that have formed in your body. Before you become afraid of blood clots, you need to have a deeper understanding what really is it, what causes it, what will happen to your body when a blood clot forms and how you can prevent it especially if you are planning to undergo a certain type of surgical operation like the buttock augmentation surgery.

Blood clot formation is your body’s normal response to certain traumatic situations, such as an injury. Also known as coagulation, blood clotting is an important function of your body that inhibits disproportionate bleeding and helps heal wounds. The dark side of blood clotting is when it produces deadly blood clots. This commonly happens after a surgery. One of the complications largely associated with buttock augmentation is a condition called thromboembolism, which occurs when a blood clot enters your bloodstream. To minimize the risk of thromboembolism, your surgeon will recommend that you walk for at least a few minutes daily after buttock augmentation.

You do not have to be afraid because there are treatments for blood clotting. These include anti-coagulation medicines, surgery, or both. If you have a history of blood clots, you have to tell it right away to your surgeon. Discuss it completely and never withhold even a bit of information. It is also important to tell your doctor about the medications you are taking, including prescription and over-the-counter drugs, supplements, and even recreational drugs. You can also keep your arms and legs raised, so your blood can circulate with ease. You need to quit smoking. Aside from it brings numerous health disadvantages, it will also slow down your recovery process.
