I wasn’t the regular patient, as Dr. Cortes said, I had the unfortune for my body to develop hypertrophic scars after the tummy tuck surgery I had with him and this have been quite difficult to manage. Dr Cortes has been very accommodating starting with the pre-operative consultation and until I was completely recovered and healed, but I realize that most patients are much more easy to manage than me.
I am happy now to be able to look at myself in the bathroom mirror when getting off the shower and admire my body, like really smile at myself and think I am hot. I have sex with the lights open and I actually enjoy my husband looking at me because now I like me too, so I understand how he can love my body.
Things were not like this before the tummy tuck. I was stressed out, frustrated, irritable, you name it. I wouldn’t show myself otherwise than fully dressed in front of my husband and I started wearing pijamas instead of my nighties so I don’t risk him seeing my tummy. If you ask me now, I would do the procedure ten times more to enjoy the results I have now, it was all worth it. But I would have given you a very different answer if you asked in the first three months post-op.
The recovery went all well, until I realized the incisions are not really ok. I wanted to see the dr sooner, but I didn’t want to overreact so I waited to see what happens and when I went in, it was apparently a bit late. I needed treatment for the incisions and they still don’t look as good as I have seen in other patients, but I guess it is my fault for waiting too long before seeing dr Cortes.

I found Dr. Cortes reading reviews online about the tummy tuck. I saw him performing procedures live and saw most of his videos about the tummy tuck and I couldn’t wait to meet him in person to discuss my procedure. It is such a big difference to see something online and then see how it would apply to your case. I was so thrilled that he is doing the hourglass tummy tuck procedure, this is exactly what I wanted. It’s like a tummy tuck with a twist and it completely changes everything and the image you see in the mirror.
When looking at before and after pics of others who had the procedure I was very careful to check the scars, but Dr. Cortes really has very talented hands, and it is almost impossible to find the scars, especially for lipo and fat transfer. I consider myself lucky to have found him and he accepted to do my surgery. I have diabetes and I was worried that this might be an issue, but the Dr.explainedwhat I need to do and everything went on smoothly during the surgery.
It wasn’t cheap the hourglass tummy tuck, I probably could have had the procedure with someone else for a cheaper cost, but I wanted the best and this is what I got. I think it’s important when treating yourself to go all the way and not stop at little things. The cost aspect was important for me, this is true, but at the office they will explain different payment options and I think it is not difficult for anyone to get the best care for a fair cost.

What I can tell you about having a tummy tuck is that the pain is real. Very real, very present and it will hit you after the effects of the general anesthesia is gone. The good news is that if you are having the procedure with Dr. Cortes, he will tell you all about this and prescribe you medication to get over it. He asked me how is my tolerance to pain and I thought is rather good with my two pregnancies and all, but apparently I am not as good with pain as I was when I was younger. The Dr.was so understanding and prescribed new pain medication when I told him I’m still in pain with what he gave me before. It was also my back, really really painful due to all that laying on the back. The new painkillers helped big time, so if you know you are not good with pain, tell him this from the beginning so you don’t have to go through the discomfort.
The tummy tuck is not a very simple procedure to go through. When you see the scars of other patients so small and like fine lines you imagine that this is how you’ll look like the next day after the surgery, but this is just not what happens. My scar seemed so long and red and all the things I feared that I was already asking the Dr. about scar treatments and if I can take it off with laser. But he said this is just a stage, things will get better, etc etc. But the thing is that they did get better. Now I am the happy owner of a fine looking scar that I can easily tuck in my panties if I want to keep it away from prying eyes! Really now, the scar will be the last thing you have to worry if you have surgery with Dr. Cortes. He is very good, so good that he can even make jokes about it!

If you never went to medical school and you want to know all the details about how a procedure is performed, you should go see doctor Cortes. The first meeting we had was a bit like a lecture at university, but targeted at me. I love Dr. Cortes now, but we had a bit of a rough start 😊)) I went to see him to get lipo and breast implants and after he examined me and weighted me he asked if I am happy with my weight. I said obviously not because this is why I want to have liposuction. The doctor explained that liposuction is not for weight loss and he can only extract fat from under the skin, but this will not affect the fat that is in the abdominal cavity. He also said that he can’t use liposuction on the whole body, just specific areas and if I want to use lipo for weight loss I won’t be happy with the results. In other words, he didn’t want to perform surgery on me until I lost weight. My first impression was that I should look for someone else to do the surgery, but then I thought so more and realized that he was just making recommendations for my own good and wellbeing. Also I was worried that he said that if I lose weight after lipo or gain weight, the results will be compromised. I thought I should give it a try and do as he said. I started a diet, I exercised more often and in 6 months I was back for another consultation. This time, things were completely different and Dr. Cortes explained again why it was not a good idea to get lipo when the weight is not stable or you are not happy with the weight. Also, now we realized that I actually needed a tummy tuck and also a breast lift with implants. If I would have got the implants and then lost weight, the breasts would have become saggy too.
Now I have a normal weight, my body looks fit and thin and my breasts are so soft and sexy. I’m grateful Dr. Cortes kinda pushed me towards this by refusing to do lipo in the first place, and I can’t respect him more for this.

My daughter was five years old when she said she doesn’t want me to take her to a school event because I am the fattest mom and she prefers to go with her nana. Best doctor in Texas, He knows his job and very professional. I contacted him for tummy tuck. He gave me complete information about surgery before. His team is very supportive and gave me precautionary steps after surgery. His bedside manner was good.
